A Bit About Becky
Becky grew up in a small town in Michigan. She became a leader in a variety of 4-H project areas at the age of 19. She has taught many kids how to show animals, create art projects, bake, and work on leadership skills. In 2003, she graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Music Major concentrating on theory and literature with a Psychology Minor. In 2013, she started working in a residential facility working with teens and children. Later, in 2016, she was looking for something more. She found an applied behavior analysis clinic that gave 1:1 direct treatment in applied behavior analysis (ABA). This was the aha moment for Becky. She finally connected her love for teaching others and the direct support for the individuals she worked for. Later that year, she started her master's degree in Psychology, specializing in ABA. The passion she found pushed her towards all things behavior. In June 2019, she graduated with a 4.0 and became a qualified behavior health professional where she started helping parents, children, and adolescents find their voices to get their needs met. In November 2019, she became a BCBA utilizing everything she has learned. Becky found acceptance and commitment training (ACT) through her many continuing education courses and her mentor. She tries to utilize ACT every day in her practice and her own life. Being psychologically flexible in the present moment when things are out of your control is the biggest challenge many people face daily. Becky would like to support others in finding that flexibility through practicing the six areas within ACT.
